The Farah family has a legacy in the insurance industry dating back to 1935, and 25 years ago, the father and son team, Peter Farah and Rodney Farah founded PRFC. They shared a bold vision: that independent insurance broking, delivered with integrity and technical excellence, could offer something genuinely valuable to Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
Established in 2000, PRFC set out to raise professional standards in the regional insurance market through bespoke risk-management consulting, transparency, and by constantly pushing for more sophisticated solutions, which was a deliberate shift away from purely transactional approaches. The founders believed that insurance should be more than a product - it should be but one aspect in the process of understanding risk, anticipating change, and protecting what matters most.
From those early beginnings, PRFC grew steadily, not through big public moves but through earned trust. Clients returned because they felt seen. Team members stayed because they believed in the work. Relationships became the cornerstone of the firm’s reputation. When co-founder Peter Farah passed, his principles of honesty, diligence and service did not disappear; they became even more deeply embedded in the culture he shaped. Under Rodney Farah’s leadership, the PRFC team honoured the firm’s origins while preparing for a broader, even more ambitious future.
What began as a small specialist operation, steadily evolved into a multi-disciplinary team serving clients across multiple sectors. PRFC invested heavily in professional development, and to this day encourages and supports staff to pursue globally recognised credentials. PRFC has also hosted a number of events in collaboration with its international partners from the Lloyd’s market and beyond, educating its customers and reinforcing its position as a conduit for global knowledge sharing in the region.
